NEWS! at SpanielsInTheField.com

Dear Spaniels in the Field and Flushing Retriever enthusiasts,

Thank you so much for supporting Spaniels in the Field (SITF) during its rich history. Whether you are new to the flushing dog world or a loyal fan of our magazine and/or web site, please know that there is a major change on the horizon for our organization and we invite you to join our membership and move forward together with us.

Spaniels in the Field will change to Spaniels in the Field & Flushing Retrievers (SITFFR). This will include the most popular gun dog breeds, Labradors and all flushing Retrievers. This expansion will bring greater numbers of lovers of the flushing breeds together as one strong voice for our mission.

SITFFR is now a non-profit organization and will host charity and educational events which will benefit the sport and our flushing breeds. It is our hope that you will support us with your membership and participation. Keep tabs via our quarterly publication and make contact with other like minded sportsmen on our interactive web site. Below, please find our new mission for your review. If you agree and would like to support our common cause, please consider a membership.

Spaniels in the Field and Flushing Retrievers is dedicated to the support and preservation of the traditional flushing gun dog breeds. We are focused on conservation ethic and educating the public, especially youth for a healthy environment. Through the love and wisdom we hold for our gundogs, we aim to pass our wing shooting heritage onto future generations, along with the green environment these dogs need to continue their evolution. We plan to partner with other organizations that support education and conservation for a healthier planet.

Our acronym: SITFFR, pronounced “SIT FAR,” offers a future image of perhaps a grandchild of your own, hunting afield with a flushing retriever sitting by their best friend’s side. The two of them on the same quest - apart they would fail woefully, but together they are formidable. A worthy cause indeed!

We are asking for your continued support under our new identity and mission. Your membership in SITFFR will aid a cause close to all of our hearts.

Kind regards,
Scott Winston, Secretary SITFFR, Hunting Editor and Advertising Director SITFFR quarterly publication
