In Memory of Steve Sebestyen
(Passed away on September 18th 2006)
.Scott Winston called me today, and wanted me to write a bit
about Steve Sebestyen.
Steve passed away on September 18th, and would have been 87
on Sept. 27th.
He, was active in both the Wisconsin Amateur Field Trial Club,
and The West Allis Kennel
Training Club, and later joined the English Springer Spaniel
Club of the Central States.
Ove the years he Championed Running Bear and Ludlovian Hawk,
and Hawk was the Hi
Point Amateur dog in 1964.
Steve judged many trials, and the National in 1964 and 1983,
and was Field Trial Chairman
for the National in 1968 and 1973. Also, was instramental
in the Parent Club starting the
National Amateur in 1963.
2002, he was inducted in to the Bird Dog Hall of Fame.
His health started declining a few years ago, sold their home
in Greendale, Wisconsin,
moved to Delavan, Wi,, and had moved to Rhindlander a year ago,
into a nursing home
facility, living close to their son Jim. He, went peacefully
in his sleep.
He, is survived by his wife, Merc, his son Jim, and a daughter
Margret, and their families.
